How to ship a Nautilus?

Graco is buying our Nautilus Elite back from us to take a look at a broken piece (and because they no longer sell the Nautilus Elite?), but they don't cover shipping costs back to them. So how is the cheapest way to ship it? We also have an extra back that will go back with it which we have to account for, but I can't imagine it will matter if it is sent in pieces or assembled. This weekend I will be 100 miles from the place I have to ship it vs the normal 200 miles; should I ship it while closer or will that not affect cost that much?

Also is it ok to keep the cover as a spare or will they expect that back too? I don't mind sending it as they are being more than generous taking back our 3 or 4yo seat, but wouldn't mind a spare cover. Just don't want to feel like I am walking all over their kindness by keeping the cover!

Btw, Graco has excellent customer service, and while we have had a few issues with their seats they have always gone above and beyond to make it right!

Thanks!

I would say shipping it while closer is a good idea, disassembled and in the smallest box possible is also good, most likely USPS and keep the cover if they want it they will ask :)

I would take off the base and headrest for shipping and keep all the pads and harness. If they want these items when they get the seat (which I doubt) you can send them separate.

With the new shipping pirce increases by USPS, you also might want to check out FEDEX for a quote. Last time I shipped, their price was several dollars cheaper AND it arrived a week ahead of when USPS would have delivered it.

I'd also keep the cover and harness pads!
