... it's probably best to not have the help of the seat's occupant, lol.
DS1 needed his shoulder straps moved up, and I finally did that the other day. He was still sitting in his seat, unbuckled, but leaning forward so I could manipulate the straps. I loosened them to reveal the... I don't know what to call it, the little clip that the loop ends of the straps slip into. Then I took off the loops. While I was moving the straps into the next slot, DS had discovered the tail to tighten/adjust the straps at the other end of the seat and managed to pull on it, bringing the clip that I was supposed to put the loops back onto WAY underneath the seat, out of reach. So my simple strap adjustment job turned not-so-simple as DH had to then help me take the whole car seat out so I could make my fingers skinny and grab the clip end of the strap and pull it back out so it was once again accessible.
