Diono Alternative, or turn FF?

I have 3 kids RFing in my 2007 Honda CRV.

DS#1: 3 years 8 months, 31 lbs. 38 inches
Diono RXT

DD#1: 2 years 5 months, 25 lbs. 34 inches
Diono RXT

DD#2: 8 months, 20 lbs.

We will soon be purchasing a 3rd Diono RXT when we move the baby out of the bucket. I want to keep all of my children RFing for as long as possible.

In our secondary car, a 2002 VW Jetta, we have 2 RFing Britax Advocates (a 65 & a 70). However, DS has recently maxed out on the RFing height. We need to either turn him, or purchase a seat with a taller shell height. He rides in this car to go to preschool, 3 days a week.

DH wants to turn him FF in the Jetta, so we don't have to shell out the cash for a 4th Diono, but I really hesitate to do that. Is there another (cheaper) option that will keep him RFing longer?WWYD? I appreciate any suggestions you may have!

As for the cheaper option for the Jetta - you could see if he's hit the height limit for the Cosco Scenera. That's the cheapest I can think of and it has a weight limit of 40lb, which doesn't really seem to be a concern yet for you. I'm not sure of the height on that seat, so you'd have to compare the seat compartment height to your child's seated height to know for sure if he fits.

Put the diono in the jetta for the 3 yr old and buy a scenera for the 8month old in jetta. And use the outgrown marathon for the baby in the crv.

There is also the Graco Size4me/Headwise/MySize 70....It is supposedly even a little taller than a Radian and is at Babies r us right now for around $150, not cheap cheap but cheaper than a RXT.
