Which way should I configure these seats?

I have a 4.5 yr old in a Britax Frontier currently outboard and my 14 month old is switching from him Chaperone to Radian rfing this week. We went with the Radian because we often have an extra passenger so we would like I have a seat in the back of our 2012 Ford Escape open. They are currently both outboard but for awhile we had the infant seat in the center. When I install the radian I'd like one seat in the center and one outboard passenger side if its possible to make them fit. If so....I can't decided which seat should be where??? I bought the angle adjuster for the radian so it can fit behind the passenger seat. I feel like my forward facing kiddo should go in the middle because its safer and she has less protection being forward facing, but I worry about the low sides of the radian being enough to protect the rf 14 month old in the event of a side impact crash....any input would be really appreciated!

Also...I have read that the radian can be a major pain to install ff. is that something I get to look forward to in the future???

If they fit that way, the FF child goes in the middle. RF already offers more side impact protection than FF.

Thanks! That's kinda what I was thinking, just worried about baby being outboard in a seat with low sides
