What's with the lack of padding in the Graco Size4Me/Headwise?

I tried Caleb in one at Target last night and he has tons of room to grow. It would be an awesome narrower solution for my car. BUT.... there is 0 padding in the butt area. I don't know if it would bother him but I'm thinking it would. He's used to the padding in Britax seats. He loves it cause it's red and has a cup holder and I would have bought one last night if not for the lack of padding.

Would it kill Graco to throw a piece of foam under the butt? It's cheap and so not a big deal. I may get one anyway and see if it bothers him but I want padding dang it! :p

I have had many kids including a 5 year old rearfacing full time in it for a while, and none of them complained. I did ask them from time to time.

I know! I'm actually thinking of getting it myself because of the colors!

Do anyone knows if the latch buckles are different from the size4me? The floor model is...

It would not matter though since I have a car that's pre-latch for now.
