The RA50 is one of my favorite seats, but I must be out of the loop.. what's up with the new look? I noticed the black base the other day when I was at Target. Has Britax changed anything about the seat or is the base just black instead of white now?

Maybe it's because they use black plastic in all their other seats so it's easier/cheaper to use that now?

I think the black plastic is the only change. The classic MA65 is black now, too.

Single latch strap too I believe. Cant remember but it may not have the metal bars on the side either.

I don't see any metal bars? I Do like the looks of the lock offs though much more convenient to get too than taking off the cover to access the lock offs

Although I have an RA50 and like it, I don't think it's worth $160 compared to what you can get for less these days. I got mine for $100 from Target last year. And no, there aren't metal bars, just a single strap.

I also got the Kathryn from Target last year for $100..wishing I had harness covers,wonder if I could order them from Britax? I hate the way the brown looks with the black shell.

Yes, you can order harness covers from Britax. I agree the brown looks better on the white shell. Kathryn is a really pretty cover though!
