Question Would you update Frontier or buy new HBB

DS (7.5) is finally ready to switch from a harnessed seat to a booster. His Frontier 85 will be 3 years in April (DOM is 3/2010) and it needs a new cover and foam seat pad, which will be $100 if I order from Britax. I'm tempted to spend the $100 on a new booster and let my mom have the Frontier as is. (He rides in her car about once a month).

Other factors to consider: I have something I could trade-in at BRU could get 25% off. DS just hit a growth spurt but is still small for his age (45lbs and almost 45" tall). The seat would mostly be in one of captain chairs of my 2012 Sienna

Just curious what others might do: update the Frontier and switch it to booster mode or buy a new HBB??

Thanks!

I wouldn't trade in a 3 year old FR85.

I would check swap for a new cover or give it to grandma.

She was saying she has another item I think. I would look for a cover on swap. If you do decide to start boostering him I'd do some test drives before making the final decision.

Sorry to be unclear. Yes, I have a old bassinet that I would trade in @ BRU to buy a booster. I know the FR 85 seat still has a lot of life so I still plan to use as a booster either in my van or, if I buy a new booster, in MIL's
