Question Problem with LATCH on Graco Affix

Having same issue with brand new 2019 Graco booster... one strap easiiy can be pulled out all the way (5" or so)... so is this safe?

There's no reason it would make the booster unsafe to use, as this is purely a convenience feature to prevent having to buckle the unoccupied seat each time the child gets out- it serves no crash purpose whatsoever for the child. But go ahead and call and see what Graco says- there might even be a quick fix like making sure nothing is stuck in there. :)

Assuming you have a belt positioning booster that doesn’t have a harness, this reply applies to your situation. Glad you came to find answers, we are happy to help!

The problem with these is that the cam lock only works on the belt touching the cam. As the belts are on top of each other, only the top one truly locks in. That said, and as other point out, in the event of an accident, the main seat belt does the restraining, not the latch system as it would on a traditional car seat.

Remember the old booster seats didn't even have latch available, it was just the main belt.
