Hi ladies my name is niki and I have a wonderful 8 month old baby boy named Elijah. Well he finally outgrew his infant seat (he weighs just over 24lbs) and it came time to fit his convertible seat into my or my husbands car. I drive a 2010 mazdaspeed3 but all mazda3 both hatchback and sedan versions have had about the same rear seat room since 2004. We currently have a S1 alpha elite 3 in 1 and it just will not level out in my car or my husbands VW CC according to the line on the seat to ground. His car however is slightly a better level than mine and he sits great in it and there is still empty space for the front passenger. However in my Mazda the seat must be all the way up and it's still not enough to fit the seat well enough.

Soooo with all of that being said I am going today during the babies r us sale to buy a seat that hopefully will sit better in my car then our current seat. What is a great seat for rear facing in a compact car? I was hoping for another 3 in 1 like our S1 but I fear they are bigger than the ones that go up to 70lbs. I was thinking about getting the graco my size 70 because I read they accommodate taller babies and my son has been in the 97th percentile since birth so he is a tall and heavy baby for his age. I'm not seeing much complaints about that seat other than the buckle, anyone have issues with them and the buckle? Please help any suggestions would be great!

Anyone have a recaro proride? I would have to order that online but I have seen them rear facing in a Honda fit and I'm sure that cannot be much bigger than my car. I rather buy a more affordable seat and today but if it turns out to be a much better fit and safer ill spend the extra cash for quick delivery.

Sorry for the long post =(
