Gen3-era Jeep in crash - properly secured baby uninjured

Just one month before the horrific crash, Donavan had taken the child seat to a seat inspection clinic in Beaverton, only to be told by Detective Pam Judge that she had the seat installed in the car improperly.

With the seat fixed, Donavan and Detective Judge parted ways, not expecting to see each other again.

After the accident, Donavan's daughter Lucia was found inside the Jeep by firefighters uninjured and still strapped in the properly installed car seat.

I saw this. I was particularly shaken by seeing the damage done to that Jeep, which is the same make/model as mine. I have Gen3 seatbelts too :( I wish they would have shown the carseat in the car, but it looks like it was already taken out by the time the pics were taken. I'm so glad that both mom and baby were ok--that first pic of the wreck looks really nasty.

I didn't see the article, but saw your pulled quote. I hope they were ok.

The advocate in me loves it when they actually say something about proper/improper installs -- especially if it had been checked by a tech.

Mom had minor injuries, baby was fine. She'd gone to a seatcheck recently and learned how to properly install the child's seat.
