Question A something harness locks

Yesterday I called Recaro about the new Prosport we have because the harness adjuster seemed different than what I was use to. When I tighten my DD it pulls super easy and once tight it makes an audible clicking noise almost like it ratchets. This seemed a little strange to me, so I called and ended up talking to an engineer there. He use to work for Radian and he said that Recaro and Radian use the same A...something locking mechanisms. I can't remember what he said they were called after A :)
He said they were superior to Britax and other seats because they didn't use teeth and it was easier on the harness, less abrasion to it. Which was interesting as Britax has replaced 2 harnesses for me because of fraying.

Opinions on these thoughts. To me the Radian has the tug, tug tightening of a harness, where the Recaro is more smooth. Is that right? He also made it seem like this type would hold up better in a crash. Just curious on thoughts about this.

I think it's just A-Lock, I don't remember any other word in between the two.
I'm curious if there's a brand name on your Recaro's harness?
No thoughts on better crash performance, I'd sort of expect them to all hold tight, otherwise you get random loosening and recalls (like the Cosco Vantage a couple years ago, or lots of other Coscos, and an Evenflo, and probably others I'm forgetting...anyway, that harness adjuster is the main part of the whole system, it really has to hold tight in a crash, otherwise the harness is just decoration)

Seemed like it sounded fancier but probably just A lock is right :)
