I went to get my SnugRide 35 out to take pictures to sell it and it has what I think is mildew on it. There is nothing on the plastic or foam. It was only on the cover and the harness. I am washing the cover now to see if it comes clean. If I replace the harness is it still usable?

I checked the other boxed baby stuff and it is all fine. It is so strange.

How much does a harness cost? Is it even worth it to replace?

Thanks!

Someone more knowledgeable than me should chime in, but I'd wash the cover with some vinegar in the rinse cycle. Replace the harness, and I'd also wipe down the shell with vinegar. I would think it'd be fine to sell after that!

Honestly? I don't think it is ethical to sell a child's item that has been contaminated by mold without disclosure. It's one thing to make the choice to clean and use it for your own child (replacing harness) but I don't think it is ok to make that choice for anyone else.

ETA: full disclosure, I am conservative when it comes to used seats in general, and wouldn't give away or sell a seat that I wasn't 100% sure about.

This is what I was thinking but wanted to make sure I wasn't being too over protective! I am mad that it did this. everything else down there is fine :(

Anyone need a training seat?

I agree with a previous poster.

If you want to go ahead and replace it and then sell the seat, that's your call. However, definitely 100% be honest about it all. While it's important to tell the truth about anything at all when it comes to car seats, for someone like me this would be absolutely critical as I have a life-threatening allergy to mold so that could end up pretty nasty. So, your call, but definitely just disclose it all :)
