If you go to this link and click on interior photos of the 13, it shows how the OB seats dome up toward the doors. That hump looks shorter in height than my 09 hump but DH has my car so I can't check. Maybe my hump just seems bigger in my mind. Anyway, does it look better for OB to you??:

Maybe I am just wishing the 14 seat is better.

It looks exactly the same to me. Personally, the hump isn't what bothers me since its flat now vs '08 and earlier where it was curved upward. What irritates me is how ridiculously tiny that middle seat is. Its pretty much like they don't expect you to use it. I've managed to fit a MR, a radian xtsl(with much fight), a baseless infant seat and DS in an RSTV in that spot, that's it. The side bolsters are a pain too. Yes, they make the seats more comfortable for an adult but you either have to find seats that fit in them or have a lopsided seat. If you're looking at getting a new car, get a mazda 5. ;) That was what I wanted but DH hated it and he drives on weekends and would have whined every time he drove it.

Woh, I didn't realize how skinny the 08 center seat was. The 09 is skinny but I can get a Foonf, TFP and a BLVD 70 center RF no problem. I had to twist the belt stalk 3 x's before the seat belt recall on the BLVD but now no need to twist at all. Oh wait, on the TFP RF after the recall it covered up a buckle on one side but after the recall my buckles are really short. Side "bolsters"--that is a better word. That is what I was trying to describe when I wrote the OB seat domes up toward the door.

It definitely looks better for outboard seats. The '13 looks terrible with that hump next to the door!

Phew, I was starting to think I dreamed it up. The bolster/hump next to the door forces you to install OB seats with the base close to the center position which IME makes OB seat shells not play well with center seats. I wonder if you will be able to install OB seats close enough to the door so you could do something like a Foonf or Radian next to each other facing the same way.

I have an '11. ;) I just know about installing in the other years because we testdrove a plethora of foresters and outbacks before leasing a new forester. Oddly the only seat I have to twist the belt stalk in the center on is the radian, both RF and FF. I still need to get my butt into the dealership to get the recall fixed for the belt. It only gets used to hold in DS's cubby for his stuff so I've been lazy about it.
