I need to order a seat this weekend...please help me decide which one

Sorry this is my one millionth post on this particular situation, but I just can't seem to make a decision. Here is the skinny: I need a FF seat for occasional use (a few times/month) in my Mom's Mini Cooper for my 3 year old daughter. She is 31ish pounds, has a 14" torso, and is 37" tall. She is RF outboard in an RXT in our car, which I am okay with, but the harness adjuster drives me nuts when RF (but is fine FF). Baby brother is in the center in a CCO and I want him to stay in that spot for as long as possible so I can sit with him when DH drives (brother is a car hater). I would like to buy a seat that isn't too expensive, that is easy for my mom to install, that will last us a while, and will give her some SIP for FF. Here is what I am thinking so far:

1. Get a pink MyRide to RF in our car and put the RXT in Nana's car. Switch the seats when she flips FF at 4 since the MR didn't fit well FF in our car, and hope it fits FF in the Mini since I won't be able to test it first.

2. Get a pink or purple Prosport for Nana's car and let Dahlia choose which seat she likes better when she is FF at 4, since both fit in either car.

3. Another option I haven't thought of yet?

I have tried an Argos and found the harness adjuster to be impossible. Same for the S4M. The Frontier was too wide for the spot I would need to put it in our car, and it seems like overkill to get a seat that big and fancy just to put in Nana's car. I also wasn't impressed with the seat in general. I couldn't fit a TFP FF in our car and my mom would never install it right thanks to the required lockoffs. Didn't like the SecureKid and we don't have a Walmart anywhere near us to get a Defender (though I would track one down if necessary).

I am tired of running this around in circles in my head. I need to decide soon.

Thanks!!!

Have you tried out the Maestro? It's pretty inexpensive and an easy seat to use, you would need a dedicated booster later, but those aren't so expensive. If it were me, I'd get the ProSport, but that's because I bright pink sparkly heart having new carseat pretties, especially the fancy ones lol, not for any actual logical reason. I'm terrible.

I would look at the new Evenflo SureRide. It looks like it would make a nice FF seat (could be used rear facing but with some limitations),nice harness height, and most Evenflo seats are very easy to install in most vehicles, plus it's $99 and can be found on Amazon.

If you can put it off a week or two you can probably order a defender to see if it will work for you. Otherwise, I'd go for the prosport. A ff my ride in a mini seems like it would be really intrusive plus it seems like between the tall base and the recline she would have very little legroom in such a small car.

After more thought...I agree that the Prosport will be the most useful to us. Now the next big decision...pink or purple?

Purple! I think that grey looks alright in tan and grey interiors so that way you would be ok if you need to move it to your car later.

The deed has been done. I ordered the purple Prosport! A bit over my intended budget, but I think it was a better long--term solution for us than the MR. I'll update once it arrives. Thanks for the advice and the nudge in the direction of the PS. I saw it in person at a toy/baby store near me and was very impressed. I hope it isn't so fantastic that I cave in and FF her now.

Unrelated...but they also had the Foonf in the same store and that thing looks so darn high up on its mega-base. No way that would fit in the Fit!

I ordered a blue prosport last week and it will be here tomorrow! I wanted purple but dd2 loves blue! Looks like our dds are about the same age...dd2 is 12/6/09. :) I'm thinking the same thing hoping we don't love it too much and want it in my car right away cause she is still RFing in a true fit in my car right now (planning to put it in dh's car til she outgrows the TF RFing).
