My son is 3 years and 3.5 months old. Weighs about 30-31 lbs and is about 37 inches tall(long legs as you will see) not sure what his exact torso height is.

I am posting this because he is still RF in new gen and older gen Britax seats and I know a lot of us techs are always recommending different seats other than Britax because they "don't last long rearfacing"

Do I just have a skinny kid with a really short torso?

We :love:LOVED:love: our Britax convertibles! Yes, you are lucky to have a smaller kid than some, but my huge kid made it to about that age in her Britax new gen seat and she loved that seat. Thanks for sharing!

I can't see the pics. :(

I don't think it's odd. This is my 4 yr, 10 month old rfing in his. He's at the limit at 42" and 38 lbs. The 2nd pic look like he's over, but it's the angle. I really just included that one for his goofy grin. ;)

He picked Zebra! I love it. I looks kinda like grey camo. It's his favorite seat out of all the ones I have. :) If I could find another Zebra cover for my other BLVD, I'd get it for him. I wish they made it for the FR 85. He's gonna be ticked when he has to give up his Zebra. ;)

Hear that Britax? We need a FR 85 in Zebra!!!!

My son is also in a zebra Blvd :) not girly at all IMO. Why are zebras effeminate? Or is it just all animal prints? Makes no sense to me

Anyway I would totally buy a zebra frontier! And I have posted that on their FB page before.

I love our Britax seats. DD2 will be at least 3 when they are outgrown. If you copy the IMG code from photobucket the pics will show in the thread. I miss Oklahoma and definitely never saw erf there or here in Arkansas. :( I think they can keep most kids to at least 2 and many to 3 years which would be great. I hope that does become the norm.

My tall, long torsoed kid outgrew the new gen ones before age two. I have a hard time judging "average" kids because both of mine are huge!

My 3.10 year old DD still fits in her MA70 too. She's a shorty, but those legs are a growing. Her new ride for her B day will be a Prosport.

Does anyone want to hazard a guess how long the G3 Britax's will last most kids RF? I loved DS's BLVD 70 but, although he was 50% by height, he outgrew it right at 3 due to his huge head. When I get asked if I would recommend this seat, I refer people to the Recommended Car Seat list and this forum, in addition to saying that our family thought it was a great seat. It seems to me that it would get most kids to 2, yes?? It is a lucky kid who will make it to 2 RF around here.

My new fave seat to recommend is the Size4Me. I make sure and mention its long RF capabilities and lowish price (well, to ERF). I always finish up with... Its a great seat! The buckle annoys a lot of people but if you can look past that it has a lot to offer!

And I have no idea what "average" really is.. To answer your question. I love my Britax seats and feel they have so much to offer. My son has at least two inches above his head. Im pretty confident this may last him RF til maybe age four?????? Who knows... We will see. I may buy a Size4Me after he outgrows the Britax's. Cause I'm such a nerd : )
I FF him for one ride a few weeks ago and he just looked so LITTLE back there. I just wasn't comfortable though with the idea. He loved it of course. But he happily RF the next ride. Happily.

I am always hesitant to recommend the S4M since the whole buckle/difficult to tighten harness issue. If not for that, we would have 2! I got my husband a TFP for his car and he hardly ever got the harness tight enough so I finally had to take it out. Ours is an example of a great car seat not being a great car seat because the user found it hard to use properly ("Honey, just tug, tug, tug. OK?!). I found the BLVD70 so easy to get right and DH did better with that seat than any other...but DH is a special case. :p

The G3s are the same basic seat as the 70s. They have a few different features but would be outgrown the same. I think most kids could get to 2 and probably 3 in them. At 2, my dd was 50th percentile for height, so average, and 9 months later still fits. The 50% above average height (or torso height) would probably be near or over the limit.
