RF in ford fiesta, or other small car

Dh has a fiesta and I need a car seat for Anamarie, 10 days old, to use in it.
Infant seat or convertible, just compact.
We are moving cross country(NY to AZ) in march, and dh will be driving my van and I will be driving his car. So she will be in his car with me.
In my van she is in a convertible but the true fit doesn't fit right in the fiesta and allow room for anyone to sit in the front seat, which one of my teens will be with me too and they are both over 5'5 so they need space.
I know I have time but there is thing around us really so I have to drive an hour or two or order online.

Did you try the true fit without the headrest? I imagine at 10 days old she is under the limit for using the seat without the headrest?

I tried G in there before A was born but I don't think she has the headrest on hers either. Now I can't remeber... I will have to try it tomorrow. If so that is easy. I am fan of the true fit but wasn't sure if there was a better option or not.

Could the teen go in the van instead? then you could push the passenger seat all the way up. OR, you could put the teen behind you, which might be better anyway, so she can hold bottle for the baby, comfort the baby, etc. Those would be my top 2 choices. Beyond that.. cocorro? I think it's the smallest. If the TF works without headrest, that would be ideal, obviously.

One teen will in the van but for a long drive I do,better with someone with me, less boring specially through boring drive states and give us time to talk without others. The teens will take turns. We stop to feed the baby so that isn't an worry.
I will have to try the coccoro. I want to get a seat to stay in hubby car so will buy another tf or coccoro either way. When I take baby to doc or something it would be nice not to take my huge van speically when he is off anyway. We had a seat in his car but he just got a new one and the old britax, that was at expiration anyway, doesn't fit in this rear facing.

I'd put the teen in the backseat to entertain baby in favor of some interesting audiobooks. :duck: ;-)

Not sure how the space compares, but I have a Chevy Cavalier and the TF does not fit RF outboard in reclined position with headrest, but it does fit either without the headrest or in the upright position. It's very unlikely your 2yo fits without the headrest so it was probably on when you tried it before. I think there is a very good chance it will work for you.

I really love the Coccoro. It is my favorite newborn seat that I have tried. We bought it when I was pregnant with baby #2. We had a 1999 Ford Escort and our 15 month old was RF in a EFTA. We put him behind the passenger seat and the newborn in the Coccoro behind the driver's seat and my 6 ft tall husband had plenty of room to move his seat back and drive comfortably.

I third? the Coccoro. My husband drives a Chevy Aveo and we had two Coccoro's actually. It fit comfortably in his backseat and there was still room for a front passenger. It doesn't last as long as other seats, though. My son used it until my youngest daughter was ready for it. She outgrew it RF right after her 2nd birthday and FF at like 2.5 (but I had moved her to a My Ride, which fit, tight, but with the seats pushed pretty far).

If you get it, know it won't last forever, but by then, your youngest could move into the TrueFit and the older one could move into a booster, etc. It's worth every penny to be comfy in the car for two years.

my little one is 15 months old and will be too heavy for the Coccoro soon, so it does not last long for us at all. He is 31-32 pounds now so we are looking for him a new seat. But I LOVE it for newborns and I do think it is worth what we spent on it. Not everyone has moose babies like me LOL
