Foonf and the 1 inch rule?

Does the Foonf go by the 1 inch rule?

I am curious because in every picture that I see, the top of the headrest is SO close to the ceiling of the car. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable using to 1 inch of shell above the head when the head is so close to the ceiling.

Am I the only one? Discuss this with me. :)

I thought they had a strict 43" rule?

The manual states a 43in height limit, and also requires 1in above the head for rearfacing. On Clek's Facebook page, they indicated that the 43in limit must be observed even if there is plenty of head space.

I agree, Kacie. I would be uncomfortable with my child's head so close to the roof. Any crushing or ramping up and they would be right there. The headrest is structural, so would absorb impact forces, but somehow I don't think it is strong enough to prevent roof crushing in a roll over.
