My Foonf (Honda CRV) and a question for other Foonf owners

My Foonf came today and I cannot find the locks for the pins that go in the ARB :( The pins were in the bag but not the little lock thingers. Anywhere else I should look?

Baby DD trying it out (she loves it!) this thing is ridiculously heavy!

4 year old DS- he is 35 lbs but not sure how tall, I am trying to find my measuring tape

This is the highest head position. He has a long torso and short legs

DD1 is turning 6 in a month, and she could actually fit in this surprisingly enough! But she is skinny. It wouldn't be great for a more heavy set kid, or one with wide shoulders.

She has about an inch to the top slot

More Pics 12/30/12

I know this is not really useful, but she is cute so deal with it lol

See how great this vehicle is for 3 across? NOT

It's all snowy but you get the idea, it still sits up pretty high even FFing

However...it's awesome for 3 across! Here's another pic with it installed for real. I got the RFing lock offs this time, I cheated it over to the side but it's still rock solid.

Here it is RFing with the head rest all the way up. It's totally doable as far as the front seat goes, the head rest going up further does not cause problems at all. But it is VERY high towards the ceiling

Head rest all the way up, rear facing. This is how much room between the head rest and the ceiling :0

The locks should have been in the bag as well. I am sure Clek will take care of that for you. It is safe to use until you get them.

Oh is it? That's good because that was going to be my next question lol! It seems pretty sturdy without the pins but I wasn't sure.

It is really growing on me :D
The kids are all fighting over it of course. I have to try installing it FFing in the middle with seat belt tomorrow, but it looks like it's going to be staying :)

Thank you for the pictures! Your kiddos are adorable!

Does the Foonf use the 1 inch rule? Or 2? With the seat being awfully close to the ceiling of the car, I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel with only one inch above a child's head. It seems like that is the way it is in all cars because of the tall base.

1 inch or 43in height limit (firm).

The thing is, from the pictures anyway, I'm not sure that even a very long torsoed child would ever end up with less than 1" before hitting 43".

If you get a chance could you sit your 4 year old in it forward facing? I am curious about the leg support since it looks pretty shallow. My 3 year old is rear facing now but she wont be long enough to justify another car seat if it isn't comfortable for her forward facing. She has plenty of rear facing room in her BLVD 70 so I have a hard time justifying the cost, even to myself.

Yeah my almost 6 year old is 44" tall and there is no way in heck she would have fit in it RFing at 43" tall, I tried her in it and she looked absolutely ridiculous in rf mode!

But my son has about the same room RFing as he did in the RXT. I do not think it would last longer Rfing by height than a radian would.

Here is my 4 year old FFing, I forgot to add these! I didn't have him buckled in because I didn't want to rethread the harness. He is a little smaller than average

But here is my 5 almost 6 year old. She actually had more leg support than she did in the MySize 70 when I tried that, I was pleasantly surprised. It is very narrow though! She is about 50% for height and weight, long legs and super skinny. She has to wear size 6 shirts but size 5 slim pants. And she had about an inch above the top slots

I may end up ordering one to try. DD2 is 3 1/2, but small. she is roughly 36 inches and 23 pounds. She could probably rear face forever but she is already asking to forward face so I imagine we will likely turn her this summer, around her 4th birthday.

I took fat baby to run errands and we made multiple stops...it is REALLY annoying to get her in and out of this thing :( And she's only 1 year old, I can't imagine stuffing her in there through the tiny opening left in the door once she gets older!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.

Look at that leg room! To get the kiddos in, I play "fold the baby". But I do that with all seats.

Yeah I kind of had to put her in head first sideways and then shove the rest of her body through lol...but I have some pretty bad problems with joint pain and my back and neck crapping out at every opportunity.

I wasn't able to get a good install FFing with the middle seat belt which is what I really wanted to check.

Oh darn! Would you say it's as bad as trying to stuff her into the RF BLVD? I hated using my RA 55 because it was so annoying stuffing my son into there when he was younger because of the high sides. I was hoping this seat would be better.

I think it kind of depends on the vehicle. In this case it's not really the sides of the Foonf, just that it sits up so high that it leaves a fairly small opening in the doorway in which to squeeze baby through and into the seat. Once the baby is in the seat it's relatively easy to get situated and buckle. The seat isn't that deep, but it's very solid. And the sides ARE higher than a Radian, but I wouldn't say they're as high as the new gen Britax or the Myride.
