    Rear center position with Latch?

In my 2011 subaru wrx manual it clearly states that you cannot "borrow" the Latch anchors from the outboard position in order to use the Latch in the center position. This gave me the impression that it was this way is most vehicles.

Now we have a new (to us) 2007 jeep grand cherokee laredo.

    In that manual it says:

"All three rear seating positions have lower anchorages that are capable of accommodating LATCH-compatible child seats having flexible, webbing-mounted lower attachments"

Seems pretty obvious that I can use the latch system to install in the center but when I look at the anchors they are set up just like in my wrx... Clearly in sets of two at each outboard position.

Should I go ahead listening to the manual and install it or should I be concerned that since 2007 they have come up with new standard that say you shouldn't "borrow" anchors and that's why it reads like that for my wrx?

It also depends on what carseat you have. What do you have? The lower anchors in the center are 18.9", which is allowed by some companies, not allowed by others.

Dorel allows that spacing, so you're good.
