The link worked for me, I am not sure if it would work in the car seat though. Hopefully one of the techs will check it out for you. If you can check eBay for the moondoggy or Patagonia puffball. They are less expensive there. That is what I do.

I've been an eBay stalker the last few weeks. They are either all girls or they are from sellers who don't like to actually ship the merchandise they sell :(

I'd be wary because of that shell. I have their squall snow pants for DD, and the shell is pretty tough (not thick per se, but just... idk, wouldn't smoosh to get her into the straps.)
I don't have the jacket though, so no first-hand experience. I could be wrong!

Both my girls have the girls version of that coat. I think it's pretty car seat friendly. Generally my kids keep their coats undone in the car though.

We've had several LE Squalls. DD2 and DS2 currently have them and DH really likes his. They are thin, but still pretty warm. I'm in TX so it's pretty much never cold enough to even want to leave a coat on in the car, but they definitely aren't poofy at all. I would get the jacket rather than the parka though if you do want to leave it on just so you don't have to deal with the extra length.

We use the squall jackets(not parka) for both the kids (21 month old and 4.5 yr old). They work great for the car seat for us. We do not have to adjust the harness at all. The harness is slightly looser then we like without the coat but it still passes the pinch test.

At that age and size I still prefer a one-piece. I don't like it when I jacket stops at the hip on .. well any harnessed child, really, but especially rear facing toddlers. Its rather annoying IMO. At the very least I prefer only fleece if a jacket must be used (ie: not a one-piece). I could never handle a semi structured jacket like that on my 26 month old who is 32 lbs and 34 inches, even if it was thin enough to be safe. (I can't comment on the jacket you linked because I've never seen one)

I rotate between the following: (on the off chance my list is helpful, lol)

One piece Ursus from MEC
One piece interior fleece from Columbia BugaBaby Interchange
Columbia BugaBaby Interchange worn together
MEC fleece jacket
Columbia fleece jacket
Ursus pants worn with fleece jacket
Stonz boots as footwear

My 26 month old, who is 27 pounds, and 34 inches, refuses to wear anything 1 piece. She screams and screams and says NO, NO, NO, if I come anywhere near her with one. I had to return our Bugababy interchange that I got for $20 because she'd start running away screaming if she saw me pick it up. Which is way too bad because that Bugababy suit is awesome, imo!

We mainly do Columbia fleece jackets and sometimes the jacket from the 2 piece infant Bugaset. It's really squishable and I can get the harness straps tight enough with it. Looking at the puffball, it seems kind of similar.

My mom has a squall parka and it seems pretty thick. But that could be because it's an adult jacket? If the kids squall is pretty much fleece with a nylon shell, it's probably a good choice.

Yes, my dd screams too. She's two... she doesn't like any outerwear it seems.

I ended up seeing this coat in person. It seems thin enough, IMO, but the waterproof layer is fairly stiff (like outdoor canvas) and doesn't seem like it would be pliable in a car seat.

FWIW there are two versions of the squall...one is waterproof, the other isn't. IMO the non-waterproof ones aren't overly stiff, but I'm not sure exactly which one you saw.

I bought one for DS1 at one point because I'd heard they were thin and they are but the outer material is really stiff and I found it hard to use in the car.
