Grr moldy nautilus!

 I hate DS's room. It always gets moist in there when it rains and I stupidly left his nauti sitting next to one of the windows. I discovered yesterday that the straps are covered in surface mold as well as parts of the cover. I'm pretty certain I can salvage the cover just from washing it. Should I bother to scrub the straps with baby soap and a toothbrush or are they irredeemable? I'm so irritated at myself. I know better than to set stuff by the windows in his room. Thankfully he's boostered now in a different seat so losing the straps wouldn't be a huge deal but still grr.

I would order new straps. Well, to be honest, I would probably chuck it and get a new one, but I HATE mold and am incredibly paranoid.

I don't actually need new straps since DS is boostered now. Oddly the mold was only on the harness, not the latch straps or top tether. My guess would be DS spilled something on them ages ago that I didn't know about and that fed the mold. It all came off the cover, its not even stained. I'll just keep it around as an extra booster and chuck the straps. I'm just bummed because I was going to sell it on CL really cheap so there was another HWH seat out there.

I guess I can call graco but I doubt they'll do anything for me since the seat is 3 years old and the straps weren't defective or anything. I can't really afford to order new straps just to sell the seat for the price I paid for them so if graco doesn't want to send me new ones I'll just keep the seat as a backup booster.

3 yr old seat? Old style buckle and tongs? Any mold on them? Can you wash it off? I am sure there is someone very willing to take those off of your hands! You could just sell those and keep the nautilus as a backup booster.

Really though, it is worth a call. I called Lamaze about a moldy 2 yr old TFP to order a new strap and ask about the crotch strap and they said not worry about it and sent me the shoulder strap for free. Sadly, the mold on that seat was in the attached comfort foam and it could not be replaced so I traded it in at BRU.

Yeah, there's mold on the crotch buckle. :( Well the strap attached to it. I'm planning to call graco once I can hear again. DS shared his lovely head cold with me so my ears are all plugged up. :/
