Snugride 35 - 4 lbs vs 5 lbs minimum

DD is thinking of going with a Snugride 35 since Matthew outgrew the Keyfit at 9 months. I doubt the weight minimum will make a difference, but what about the lowest harness slots? Are they comparable?

I don't think they changed at all. If lower slots are needed and a Snugride is liked, I'd check out the 30 or 40.

I don't know if they'll be important or not. I'm interested in getting the most height with the possibility for the lowest slots in a seat dd likes.:)

Her first 2 kids had Snugride 22's that did not fit at 7 lbs and 6 lbs. The 3rd had a Keyfit, and he outgrew it at 9 months. Her baby is going to be born 3-13, and it would be nice to get through as much of the following winter as possible. She doesn't like the Shuttle and I don't like the On Board.:)

I'll have her look at those. THey're both taller backed, correct? And she'd like something that would go on her Baby Jogger XC. For her it's all about how she likes the fabric and color.

They're tall. Laine fit in them both with room to spare at 2.5 years old. Pretty sure they fit small babies well as well.

The Via may not fit a tiny tiny baby well. The review I just read said about a 7.5" torso without the padding, 6.5" with. That's smaller than the average newborn torso (at about 8.5"). But a tiny baby may not fit.

SR35 (4-35 lb model with Gracopedic foam) lowest slots are about 6" with the infant insert and 7" without.

Just curious what you don't like about the onBoard 35? The "Air" model has the premium base with lockoff, push-on LATCH connectors, AirProtect SIP technology and the shell height is one of the tallest on the market. Plus, easy-to-use buckle, 4 sets of harness slots, 3 crotch strap positions, fits preemies really well, great leg room for bigger toddlers... there's just not much to find fault with, IMO.
