I will be traveling overseas again in April with my then 2 year old and almost 4 year lold. I will be taking my coccoro for the 2 year old but I can't decide what to do with the almost 4 year old. I will be traveling by myself so have to carry it all. I have a GGK for the coccoro and a single stroller. It's an overnight flight leaving at 8:20 and I have a one hour layover in Munich. Last year I flew wtith both kids through Frankfurt with a one hour layover, did not get my stroller back at the gate and did not make the connection. So I need to be able to move fast through the airport with both kids which means no walking for them as they are tired and cranky on arrival. Not to mention getting through security fast, as I believe I will have to go through security again when I reach Munich. So I have an hour to get myself off, with ikids and stuff, wait for stroller, get everything strapped down and ready to move, go through passport control and security, and get to next gate.
So, I am debating whether to bring a car seat on the plane for the almost 4 year old. I don't need it on arrival because I have a rider safety vest that I carry in my carry on. I also have a cares harness I could use on the plane. I am considering taking a car seat because I think she would sleep better in it but it can't decide how to then transport the second car seat through the airport without making the older one walk.
If I don't take the car seat, I can have the older one in the stroller and the younger one in the coccoro on the GGK. if i take a second car seat, I would have to strap it on top of the coccoro and the little one woluld ride in the stroller. I can't put her in the carrier on my back because I have to carry our stuff.
Overall, not dealing with a second car seat would be easier and the return flight is during the day, so sleeping is not an issue. Do you think she would do ok sleeping in the seat without a car seat? I know I can use the CARES harness for take off and landing but I think Lufthansa mostly has the tray table that arer recessed into the seat, so I would not be able to use the harness for the entire flight..
Your toughts and experience would be appreciated
Thanks
