Question Lightest infant seats?

I am starting to look around at infant seats. Anyone know which ones are the lightest?

pretty sure the aton is light. Keyfit isn't bad, i can't remember how much the new mesa weighs.

There's really not that much difference weight wise. What seems to make a big difference in ease of carrying is handle design.

Oh, I bet that Cozy Carry IS the lightest. But it feels very flimsy

Snugride 30's not too bad, a little lighter than a Key Fit, but I agree with KQ, it's not the weight, it's the ergonomics.

I would say KF or SR30/35, as well. The B-Safe is also pretty light, as is the Mico. Although, I find the Mico odd to carry :duck: almost like it's off-balance?

I had the Comfy Carry for about a week until i got home and it was very light but it didnt feel substantial enough for me.

The Aton is lighter than most, but there's a little wiggle in the handle. My seat rocks slightly as I carry it, and I find it annoying. I asked about that (was calling about another issue), and the rep said that's just how it is. She had a seat there, and there was 1/4-1/2" of play in the handle when locked in position. Also, the canopy design makes it awkward to pick up by the shell when the canopy is down.

The Graco SR22 is about as light as the Comfy Carry, but I like it much better.

But really, the 1-2 lb difference in most seats isn't that big of a deal when you factor in a 15lb baby. Carrying 23 lbs isn't all that different from 25 lbs. :twocents:

also Graco has a new seat due out beginning of 2013 click connect 35 (sr35) supposed to weigh only 7.5lbs, also claiming lightest infant seat. It was at abc this year. http://blog.babygizmo.com/2012/10/new-for-graco-in-2013-abc-kids-expo/

I also agree that it's more about dynamics than actual weight. To me, the kf30 feels a lot lighter and easier to carry than my sr35, and the sr35 felt so much easier to carry over the chaperone.
