Ok here are the Alabama state laws for child passenger safety:
Child Passenger Safety Law (Alabama)
Law Summary
Alabama’s law requires children ages 5 & under to be transported in a child passenger restraint system.
Children are required to use a rear-facing child safety seat until they are at least 1 year of age or weigh 20 pounds.
Children are required to use a forward-facing child safety seat until they are at least 5 years of age or weigh 40 pounds.
Children are required to use a booster seat until they are 6 years of age.
I am wondering am I reading this properly? Is it saying that as soon as a child turns 6 years old that they no longer have to ride in a booster anymore? Or that they have to be in a booster until they are age 7?
I am floored with the fact of how crappy the laws are. No minimum height, no nothing like that, just an age. Marcus will NOT be moving out of his seat anytime soon, so no worries there. Just wondering if I am reading the laws right. If so I am very sad & mad.
