DH is looking at an 04 Accord that had had several seat belts replaced according to carfax but no reports of an accident. I'm just curious about why they would have replaced 3 seat belts at different times.

How do I find out if something was recalled?

I think you can search for recalls on NHTSA's website. Or probably just google it.
I'm also thinking a dog who likes to chew, or those old-style Britax lockoffs...

Funny that you mention those lock offs, a friend just cut hers because she couldn't get them loose.

Recalls will be listed on Carfax if something was done as part of a recall.
Not that Carfax is even remotely 100% trustworthy but something like that if it was done at a dealer should come up.
Call the dealer listed for the replacements and ask? I don't know if they will give you specifics on the car (do HIPPA laws apply to cars?) but they can tell you if there was a recall.
I'd be inclined to go with chewing dog or something like that, though.
