Crotch Buckle in Husky/Regent

I was having trouble tightening my daughter's harness in her Husky, and found that the adjustor strap had gotten caught under the "8"-shaped ring that holds the crotch buckle in.

Anyway, I noticed while I was playing around that the adjustor strap was threaded through the 2nd position hole for the crotch buckle. Hm... that didn't seem right. So, I looked it up in my manual. There's no pics, but it definitely described what I was looking at as correct. So I looked it up here, but found only one description and no pics.

So... not that I'm ever going to need to move that crotch buckle forward for my little girl, but... seriously? The correct way is with both the adjustor strap and the crotch strap sharing the same hole?

Pics for clarification (also because I am shamelessly addicted to taking pics of carseats):

Just seems weird!

yes it seems very weird! but that is how it's suppose to be...
You arent allowed to move it up until 50lbs, but its not required to be moved once they do hit 50lbs. I dont think I will need to move DS's forward before he outgrow it. He is in the 2nd from top slots maybe an inch from them and still lots of room in the crotch area.

I noticed that too, and thought it very odd. Thankfully it's a LONG time before Joyjoy will need to move to the outside slots.

That is really weird! It seems confusing; I hope Britax simplified the instructions for it in the Regent manuals, at least.

Fortunately, I don't think my daughter will ever need that position! I even had my 9 year old who (who still fits) sit in it and he wouldn't need it moved forward, either.
