I have one of my DS in just the seatbelt when he was not quite 2. No, I'm not crazy, we were goofing around. :p Will that be helpful to you?

Do you want the child to meet the 30# requirement? If not I cak get Evan, he's almost 3 but very small for his age.

Hi,

I would like one of a child who is obviously too small for the seat, by size ie a 2 year old where the belt does not appear to sit correctly.

(does that read right?)

So, you're looking for photos of improper use, right? I can get you a 25lb, 3 year old in a backless booster seat if you like. :)

I could get a pic of Avi in either a high back or no back Turbo, but he is very big for his age, aprox the size of a 4 year old. I have one pic of him from a few months ago in the Turbo, and it actually fit well. I could get you one without the back if you want though.

I could go out tomorrow and get a picture of an almost 2 year old in a high back booster. He's the size of most 1 year olds, so he'll definitely be an obvious misuse. He's in bed now, though, and it's getting dark outside, so it will have to wait until morning.

Ilana, holy cow, you have one big, healthy nephew! :) He's the size of AJ, I can't believe he's only 2 mos old than Evan.

Yes, Avi is very big and healthy. He is almost 3...aahh!! I posted a few weeks ago of how the boy who was using his DC could have been on the 2nd slot down, while Avi is too close to use that slot, he needs to be on the top slot. He has not been to the doctor in a while but I think he is about 40 lbs, he is very solid, and very long.

Avi's hair will be getting cut on his birthday. It is a tradition to wait until the boys 3rd birthday before cutting the hair, so we only have another month with the curls (sad face).

I know the tradition... I almost held to it with my son, but I'm not Orthodox so it wasn't as big a deal, and he looked too much like a girl... alas, no curls here, only thin straight wispy blonde.

You don't have to cut all the curls off... shorten it, sure, but it could still be left a little long... he's just so cute and the ringlets are perfect.

I think I have a pic of Hope in a European Britax Cruiser at about 9 months. Technically it's not a misuse pic though as the lower weight limit for this seat is 9 kilos, the seat belt was positioned on her perfectly, and boosters were common practice for children who could sit unassissted in Europe. We however, were going nowhere, just screwing around with a seat a friend bought for me on vacation as a car pool seat for ds who was 4 at the time (I loved this seat for my hyper guy, a 2 lb booster with shoulder belt lock offs. It was truely escape proof.) Don't blast me please for the non US seat, the mom who picked up my ds on Weds was having Carpal Tunnel surgery and wasn't going to be able to install a 5 pt ( or lift one for that matter) until she had been cleared by her Dr. I researched very carefully to find a booster that was light enough for ds to carry himself, and would lock the shoulder belt. The only US seat that locked the shoulder belt was the Recaro Start, and that is certainly not light weight. We used the seat once a week for about 3 months.

Okay, here is my extremely long torso-ed 23 month old son. He weighs 23 pounds and is just over 31 inches tall. His torso, however, is almost 13 inches. He just had a growth spurt... I had hoped it would be in his legs, but nope, just more torso growth. *sigh*

I left the door open to show him we weren't going anywhere and he was not actually riding in his sister's seat.

If I lowered it to the bottommost level, he might actually physically fit in it, aside from the weight issue.

That doesn't mean it's safe, however! This is the FIRST thing he did after I buckled him up (and that took some effort to get him to sit still long enough to do even that). I couldn't get him to quit leaning and wiggling long enough to take many photos. He had so much freedom and range of movement...

One more for good measure:

And here's his usual ride, just because I like showing him off. He's much easier to buckle in this seat. ;)
