I need a mini steamer to make small meals for the baby. When I want to steam literally one carrot and one piece of cauliflower. Or to reheat food for her.

I have a 0.9L pot (between 3 and 4 cups) but can't find a steamer insert that fits in it. A bigger pot works with a steamer insert, but I'm often using that pot for something else. And I'm using more water and cleaning bigger items than are necessary for the task.

I'm open to a device like those baby steamer purée machines. But I don't need the blending aspect so don't want one that steams in a bowl with blades. Would need one that had a separate steaming bowl. And imperative that it's easy to clean and doesn't allow foody water to sit in crevices in the device and mould.

My preference would be a small steamer insert that would allow both steaming and reheating.

    Any ideas?

I used the Baby Bullet brand steamer. I think I found it at Khol's. It even had an insert to make hard boiled eggs. :-) Loved it.

Oh cool. I bet I'd be able to find that around here! Was it easy to clean? I wonder if I could use the egg insert for reheating small portions?

ETA: just realized I could set my glass containers inside the unit to reheat.

It has little trays that you use for cut up stuff. I even dice up sweet potatoes in cubes and then steam them.

That sounds perfect. I could just reheat on the trays then. I found it at Canadian Tire for $30. Not sure if that's a good price? Toysrus.ca has it for $60 which seems way overpriced.

$30 sounds about right. I got it over a year ago.
