Britax Frontier questions

Can someone help me out?

I just got a Frontier SCIT this week and I am looking through the manual about it. I am trying to adjust the head restriant while in harness mode, it says that you cannot do that.

Does that mean the head restriant cannot be adjusted up at all for the harness mode? I have to leave it where it is the lowest position?
I just don't see how this seat fits older kids then if that is true.

Also it says when fitting a child that the top of the ears have to be lower than the top of the seat. Does that count the shell of the seat or the head restriant that can be adjusted taller?

Please help me out. I am fearful that my dd is too big.

Does anyone have pictures of kids 6 plus in the frontier and can explain how this works?

I believe what you're talking about is the section on taking the screw out to increase the height of the head rest while in booster mode. You CAN adjust the harness to at or above the shoulders. The ears cannot be above the top of the headrest. More importantly the harness is outgrown when the shoulders are above the slots in the height position.

Yes, that is the part that I am confused by. But I am still confused.

While the seat is in harness mode, can you adjust the head rest? I want to move it up and still use it in the harness mode.

I do need to move the harness up for sure, but the head rest can be moved up and left up in the harness mode?

does the top of the ear measurement include the head rest, not just the shell of the seat?

I am so so confused.

I am assuming that it can be for both questions, based on this picture

The one of the 9.5 year old girl with the harness mode and the head rest up, but I really want to hear some people say yes, before I go on my assumption.

It is the top of the head rest NOT the shell. The head rest moves up and down. it also expands when a screw is removed. You can move the read rest in harness mode. You cannot expand it. I think you're overwhelming yourself by reading the wrong sections. Focus on the harness mode section.

Thank you for that. That is exactly the words I need to hear. So to adjust the head rest you don't take out the screw?

In harness mode --- to adjust the headrest just adjust the harness height and the headrest will move with it.

Once you switch to BOOSTER mode you can remove that screw and the headrest can be even taller

ETA: too slow, others beat me to it.

I also think it is talking about once it is installed. Once you install it, it can't be adjusted in harness mode. You have to uninstall it, adjust it, reinstall.

This is not always true! In my car I can squeeze my hand back there to do it.
