I am wondering why the design is so different here. Sorry I can't find my camera for pics.
We have both. We've only used the Oobr for the 6-year-old and it's fine. I do notice that as the headrest moves up there is an increasingly large gap by his shoulders with no SIP. Clek said that yes, while there is a gap, the torso remains protected (there is a protruding side down low). So, OK, I think I'm happy. Recaro too is big about protecting the torso. So I guess I shouldn't worry so much about the shoulders.
Now, the Cybex has the bulk of its SIP up high near the shoulders. There is NOTHING by the torso.
Which seat design would you prefer? They seem totally opposite! If protecting the torso is so important (sounds good to me) why does the Cybex seem to have no wings there at all? Why all that bulk by the shoulders?
