Can you post a picture of him sitting in his seat. That way we can see the amount of slouching. In our situation im ok with the slouching, it doesn't feel like a big problem. As long as I remind him to scoot as far back as possible before I buckle him, his slouching room is minimized(hope that made since)

I see you made your decision and I'm very glad it's working for you. We like them too. My DD moved into that seat at about the same size as your DS is now and did not appear to be uncomfortable having the additional leg support of the deep seat. She moved into the Frontier directly from ERFing, so she was used to having her legs more supported. I would encourage him to scoot back and give it a try. Maybe it's just different than what he's used to.

These days, while my DDs are getting into their seats, I do sometimes have to tell them to scoot back into them, but once I have them tightened in, I wouldn't think they could scoot forward enough to be a problem, but I'll let the experts answer that important safety question (and I'm curious to know the answer too).

I can try to get a picture, but I'm not sure it is a visible slouch. I can reach both my hands behind him, as if I were giving him a hug around lower back.

I have the crotch strap set to middle setting. Instructions say not to have it under the child, so that is where I put it. That may be giving him slightly more space to slouch. I will try to get a pic of that too.

I don't think it would mean much movement in a crash setting, since it is very snug otherwise, but I'm not an expert.

FN does give good leg support but he likes to bend them and can't quite reach if sitting back all the way. I kind of wished he went from ERF to this mode, but I already got the CA for him to ERF to 40#, so naturally continued using it when he turned FF in May.
