Travel advice please -

I did a lot of air travel with DS when he was younger, but haven't done any in the past year so I'm re-evaluating seat options for a trip next week and need some help.

I was using an older style Marathon (manufactured 1/07) rearfacing for travel because of ease of installing in a bunch of different vehicles- seat was moved to different vehicles often so this was important. At home we use a RF radian XTSL installed with latch in a Honda Odyssey with the angle adjuster.

DS just turned 4 this week and is now 33.5 lbs and 40 inches so is over the weight limit for RF in the MA and may be too tall anyway (didn't try because of weight).

I know for this trip we'll be installing in a 2011 or 2012 Chrysler Town and Country.

Would you FF for the trip and take the Marathon or haul the Radian and install RF? If I recall correctly, the radian does install ok RF in a Town and Country.

Also does anyone know if the gogo kids wheels will work with a radian XTSL - makes it so much easier to get the seat through the airport!

I'd bring the Radian, install it forward facing on the plane, and forward facing in the rental car. I wouldn't have a problem with that at all.

I don't know if the Radian straps onto a GoGo Kidz, but you can wear it as a backpack. That's what we did.

Thanks Wendy. I think if we are taking the Radian I'll install RF in the van if I can get it to work since that's what DS is used to. I don't plan to turn him around in the Radian until he outgrows it or at least a year from now.

I know I have one of the straps to carry it backpack style, just have to find it, but will need to see if I can get another here in time. A friend has a radian too so she may have the strap I can borrow also if the GoGo kidz won't work.

Thanks for the advice!
