Is it OK to use Backless booster in 97 Buick?

DD who is 9, is currently in the Turbo HBB in the IL's 97 Buick. She is about 56" tall, all legs which is why she still barely fits in the Turbo, but the way the seatbelt comes out it's getting close to not fitting.

Will it be ok to have her sitting without the HBB, there really isn't much of a headrest back there.

I understand that the HBB provide extra whiplash protection when the vehicle doesn't have extended headrests, is that correct?

Thanks!

No her head it taller than the seatback..the seatbacks are really low in that car, I guess I could see if she 5 steps, the booster "boosts" her up higher than if she were just on the seat.

When I've sat in the back there is nothing behind my head and I'm 5'.

I'd use a taller booster, like the Britax Parkway or Frontier (kids as tall as 65 inches can fit in that), as long as I possibly could, to help with preventing whiplash injury, and also to add side impact protection.

If the tips of her ears are just a smidge over, you may get more time out of something like a harmony literider. It sits lower than a turbo. But if she's a fair bit over, I'd look into a taller high back.

I was afraid you'd say that. She is almost never in their car anymore, if it is, it's the 1 mile from school to home.

They keep talking about getting a new vehicle and I'm sure it would have better headrest.

But if she 5 steps maybe that would be ok too.....:(

boosters that sit the lowest would be the cosco ambassador or the cosco top side... those will buy her more time.
