Lower Anchor weight limit

Hi,
I have a 65lb child, a Honda CR-V 2012, and a Britax Frontier 85. Is it OK to install the car seat using the Lower Anchors and top tether rather than the shoulder/lap belt and top tether? I can't find weight limits for LATCH on either the car seat or in the car manual. I have never owned a car that had LATCH capability, but I remember hearing somewhere that some of them had a weight limit. Thanks!!

No, at 65 pounds you need to use the seatbelt and top tether. Honda states a 40 pound lower anchor and top tether limit. Britax says to assume 40 pounds if the car doesn't state anything. So either way you need to stop using the lower anchors at 40 pounds. Honda says no top tether after 40 pounds, but Britax says you MUST use the top tether for a child over 65 pounds harnessed in the Frontier. Make a parental decision on that one. Either it's incompatible, or you can continue to use the top tether.

Honda's LATCH limit is 40 lbs for the child. It isn't stated in any of their manuals but it is their official limit according to the LATCH Manual.
