Hi!! and woot woot, how exciting!! i found the course to be fairly easy since i was already pretty knowledgeable about this area and the practical things during class were pretty straight forward and my instructors did their best to gently guide you if you were having a hard time with something. i cant say about the actual seat check event because it straight POURED the day of ours so we did a "mock" one with people at the fire training academy where i took the class. i was kinda bummed lol

Whereabouts are you taking the training?

Your experience might vary, but for our courses the practical exam (clinic) is pretty straightforward. You are paired with a strong technician who works with you. We are looking to make sure that you have a good understanding of the information we taught in the course, and apply it to the real life situation in the vehicle. Also, that you ask for help when needed! So don't be afraid to ask questions from the other techs and instructors.

Hope that helps! Really if you've been hanging out here you should be fine :)

Expect to see some shocking situations. If you pay attention to this board, you'll do fine in training. Don't be afraid to ask questions even when you're at a check. Oh and clean out your vehicle and wear comfy pants.

Clean out my vehicle as in take my kids' seats out too?? Everything else is out!

You can bring your seats especially if you have any questions about your installs or anything out of the ordinary, but we will use demonstration seats to practice with. Just clean out anything you don't want us to see/step on (toys, garbage, etc). We use all of our vehicles to practice in. Speaking of which, I need to clean out my van for Monday's class, my kids have made a mess!
