How much tipping is safe? I've tried, DH has tried, a friend has tried. I cannot get this seat installed without tipping. Super tight, looser...it just falls over when my DD climbs in.

Someone told me not to pull on the shoulder belt when installing: I do NOT do that.

Is there some other thing I can try? I know I can install into the middle w/ a locking clip, but that cuts out the ability to use the 3rd row for other kids so I want to try as hard as I can before giving into that.

Please help!

Well, you'll use it to lock the belt at the buckle so you can leave the shoulder belt unlocked. The locking clip goes by the buckle, it doesn't go on the shoulder belt side to hold it down.

when I do a lap/shoulder belt install I hold onto the shoulder belt portion and pull it tight by the buckle, then feed the slack through the car seat. however if it's tipping that much when she gets in are you sure it's tight enough? less than 1" of movement side to side, and the feet are in the bight of the seat?

Yes, I'm getting it tight enough. I like...duh. Great idea about the locking clip (correctly positioned) instead of the AL. I will try that tomorrow.
