Carseat "nazis" that are uniformed

So I just got my almost 7-year-old a no-back booster for my in-laws car to use MAYBE once per week. Put him in it, it fits fine in the car, seat belt hits his thighs not stomach, and is right on his shoulder. I posted a picture of him in it on FB and all these people come out of the woodwork saying how people should not only use car seats to the minimum. He is almost SEVEN! How is that even the minimum. And it fits him. He never sleeps in my IL's car and I'm fine with it. But multiple people were going on and on about how it's not safe.

He's 4 feet tall by the way, and 44 lbs. So I know he's smallish but he's in a Frontier harness in my car where he is most of the time. Anyway, it's just annoying to have people like that. It's not like he is two!

I'm pretty shocked honestly! It's great that they're even thinking about it. But yeah that is kind of silly, I'm sure your 7 year old is completely capable of sitting in a booster for short rides.

I just turned my 2 year old rf again after 4 months forward facing... His legs are jammed on the seat... My mom cannot stop commenting on how uncomfortable he looks etc. I said uncomfortable I can deal with. Dead I cannot. Made her quiet

A bit OT, but the title says "uniformed," not "uninformed," which created a very interesting and disturbing picture in my head.

Yes! I'm picturing people in Nazi uniforms screaming about car seats... I'm glad that it is not what is actually happening to you, OP! I would probably respond on FB with something like, "I appreciate everyone's concern for DS's safety. But I put a lot of thought into car seat decisions, and I'm confident that he is riding safely in accordance with the guidelines set by the NHTSA and AAP. If anyone would like to further discuss child passenger safety with me, please send me a private message." And then if anyone sends you a private message, you can let them have it. :)

Sorry about the Nazi comment. And the uniformed comment but I did get an LOL out of that when I saw it too!

Thanks! I was just so annoyed.

I think it is cool they care. I personally wouldn't use a backless booster for a child that young and small.

two things: You can delete comments on your wall. its your wall.

2) If you are happy with what you are doing, say "Thank you for your concern" and move on.

There will always be people unhappy with the way you do things. At some point you have to be comfortable with your own decisions.

Bless and release as they say on another forum i'm on

Sorry, I'm so happy to hear people going the other way instead of "why is he in a baby chair". Your post made me smile. Are these "normal" people or just a whole bunch of car seat forum ladies?
