Oobr almost got stuck in belt?

I don't know what happened or how, but my son's seatbelt got locked over his Oobr armrest, and it was almost to the point where the whole thing would have been stuck. I would not have been able to get the Oobr out. It's almost like cutting the belt would be the only way. So...this was a bit scary. Anyone have this happen before? Hard to explain. It was the captain's chair of an Odyssey.

I think I should have kept slack in the belt as much as possible AS I was uninstalling the Oobr, but it just happened where that almost didn't work. I didn't have time to think! Hindsight.

Now I wonder how to prevent this or if it' a concern for the future.

My 4-year-old (it's her brother's seat) might have pulled the belt all the way out, then fed it back in to lock it? I wasn't aware of this and fear we almost had a disaster!

That's happened to me, at first I panicked but did you unthread the shoulder belt from the red belt guide? That creates enough slack in my belt to release the locking mechanism.

I did un-thread. I sort of panicked too. :)
I don't remember if the unthreading helped due to the way it was caught. I took out the seat (barely, sideways) and that did it.

I'm new to boosters, but couldn't this happen to any latched booster? I like boosters less and less everyday! LOL

I had this happen with our cybex. I panicked too. Lol.
Removing the shoulder belt from the guide helped me get it out..but it was tough!

Not cool.

How do you NOT panic when you think you're going to have to tell your S/O that the $300 booster seat that you *have to have* needs to be freed from the car by cutting the seatbelt!

I might have pushed the captain's chair back or reclined it, too.
Ugh, I hate when belts get pulled all the way out in a highback, but it hasn't happened to me with a LATCHing booster, that must've been an awful feeling!

You're assuming my husband knows this booster cost $300? :)
Well, OK, $239 on sale at Amazon.

I do like it but wow, I'm a little afraid of it getting stuck!

I got the seat belt get stuck in the rf belt path of our Radian last year! I had to do a lot of maneuvering to get it out, and I was just picturing the humiliating phone call to Diono that would ensue if I couldn't get it out on my own.

I had a GN and a Britax stuck in the car once. They were both installed with seat belts jammed right up next to each other. It took me an hour to free one. That was absolutely terrible. I cut and bruised up my hand. If the RN didn't have the belt path cut out, I don't have a clue what I could've done. I have forward of the bight, rigid belt stalks.

I thought I was the only blonde. ;)

I panicked when I did this the first time, too. And then after about 15 seconds and a few deep breaths, I quite casually reclined the seatback and unthreaded the shoulderbelt, then flipped the armrest and got the belt free ;)

I got my EFTA stuck once. I was undoing the seat belt and the LC got caught in the belt path while the belt was locked. It took me a while to get it out.

(I didn't purposely lock the belt with a LC on it. J did accidentally while he was climbing in the seat, which is why I was uninstalling it)
