The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is announcing a Public Health Alert for raw boneless beef trim products imported from Canada by XL Foods, Inc. that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The products subject to the Canadian recall were distributed to U.S. establishments in the following states: California, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. These products may have been further processed into various products, such as ground beef or ground beef patties.

Peterson Company is recalling Ricotta Salata Frescolina brand cheese that came from its supplier Forever Cheese of Long Island City, NY. Forever Cheese recalled this cheese product due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The cheese was sold to distributors, retailers and restaurants in Washington and Oregon states between July 17 and September 10, 2012.

United Salad Co. is initiating a voluntary, precautionary recall on various products (Zupan’s, Mary’s Select, United Salad Co, Garden Highway, Trader Joe’s) it distributes to retail supermarkets that contain Mangoes associated with the Food Source Tomorrow’s Tropical recall with the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled products were distributed to retailers and supermarkets from 09/01/12 to 09/17/12 in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.

In cooperation with the FDA's warning to not consume mangoes from Agricola Daniella, FreshLine / Caito Foods Service of Indianapolis, Indiana, is initiating a voluntary recall of a limited quantity of expired products that contain fresh-cut mangoes and are distributed to retail supermarkets due to the potential risk that the mangoes may contain Salmonella. The affected products will have printed code dates ranging from 08/04/12 to 09/16/12.

Stores under the following names in 15 states are included in this recall: Kroger stores in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, central and eastern Tennessee, and Michigan. Product was distributed between September 8-12, 2012 by retailers in the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Washington.

Kasel Associated Industries of Denver, CO is voluntarily recalling its BOOTS & BARKLEY 6 COUNT 5 INCH AMERICAN BEEF BULLY STICKS product because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can sicken animals that eat these products and humans are at risk for salmonella poisoning from handling contaminated pet products. The recalled American Beef Bully Sticks were distributed nationwide through Target retail stores from April through September 2012.

Body Basics Inc. announced today that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide recall of ACTRA-Sx 500 Dietary Supplement Capsules, Lot 008-A, Expiration December 2013. The Company, through independent lab analysis has confirmed the presence of Sildenafil Citrate making this product unapproved new drugs. Body Basics Inc. has distributed ACTRA-Sx 500 via sales made to independent distributors in the Los Angeles area and directly to some consumers.

Kennesaw, GA, Evol Nutrition Associates, Inc./Red Dawn (“Evol Nutrition”) announced today that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide recall of all lots of two dietary supplement products distributed by the company under the names Mojo Nights and Mojo Nights for Her to the consumer level. Testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) revealed the presence of undeclared tadalafil and sildenafil in Mojo Nights only, but Evol Nutrition is also recalling Mojo Nights for Her as a precautionary measure. Tadalafil and sildenafil are active ingredients of FDA-approved drugs for Erectile Dysfunction (ED), making Mojo Nights an unapproved new drug. These two products were distributed nationwide via retail stores and internet sales between July 2011 and July 2012.

WatsonLaboratories, Inc. today issued a voluntary nationwide recall for two lots of Hydrocodone Bitartrate and APAP Tablets, USP 10 mg/500 mg. A customer complaint was received for tablets that were thicker and darker shade than the other tablets.The affected lots were distributed between 6/27/2012 and 7/18/2012 to wholesale distributors and retail pharmacies nationwide.
