O is 3 and getting close to outgrowing the myride in his mom's car and he is edging towards outgrowing the Marathon in mine. We don't see him as often as we used to, but I still need a seat for him. This is also generally the seat that is used for airline travel and for my parents. My thoughts and questions on options are below I'm trying to keep it below $200. Feel free to make other suggestions as well!

1. Nautilus (is it worth it for the 1inch or so of harness height over the marathon?)

2. size4me70 (what's the top harness height?)

3. Ride safer vest (I dont know if he could sit still and I am not sure I can handle seeing him just sitting on the seat.)

That's one tall 3 y/o to be outgrowing those seats FF! I assume you mean by height? What's his weight? My first thought would be the Maestro since that would be the most travel friendly seat but if he's going to outgrow that by weight before he's booster ready then probably the SecureKid 300 or 400 or Nautilus would be better choices.

If she's outgrowing the MA by height forward facing, she'll probably have at least a year harnessed in the Nautilus or an Evenflo Maestro or Secure Kid 300/400. I do think that the Nautilus is easier to use as a booster later, BUT the SK 300 fits nicely as a booster, too, and it costs less and seems a bit narrower. My nephew went over the top slots of the MA/Decathlon at exactly 3 yrs old. He was even w/the top slots of the Nautilus at 4 yrs old, and he could have lasted probably 6 mos or so before he went over them, but the crotch strap was uncomfortable for him then. My 4 yr old ds is in the SK w/lots of room to grow and he was very close to outgrowing the Blvd (a little shorter than the MA) about a month ago.

And I would buy whatever seat will work for you to keep her harnessed for at least another year. If that's the Nautilus for you, then I definitely consider it worth it! ;) If it's only going to be used occasionally and on a plane, I'd look at the Maestro b/c of the price and that it's easy to fly with.
