"Bump Belt" Seat Belt Positioner for Pregnant Women?

I like the idea, but I cannot imagine the velcro holding very well, even in a fairly minor crash. But maybe just enough to keep the belt positioned before it lets go?

I would put this in the "not necessarily helpful, but probably not harmful" category. At best, it's a pre-crash positioner, as it's going to keep the belt in the right spot BEFORE the crash instead of up over the belly. I agree with thtr that it's not going to hold in a crash, though.

There might be other negatives that aren't occurring to me... so I am far from endorsing this product, just musing on it. ;)

I wouldn't use it... when I was pregnant it was pretty easy to keep the seatbelt across the pelvis below the bump. that's where it should be anyway.

now with cars having sensors and pretensioners and airbags and all these fancy doohickies (technical term :p ) I wouldn't use anything that may interfere with it.

There was a similar device out of Australia, and they admitted its use pretty much guaranteed broken femurs. The inventors of that one though felt an accident had harmed their unborn child and so felt the risk of broken femurs was worth it.

The Australian one wasn't Velcro though, so maybe the tear-away feature here would pose less risk?

I definitely had issues keeping my lap belt positioned both times, probably because I carried so low that my belly dipped below my legs when sitting. Like, I couldn't sit with my legs together at all by the last couple months. So the belt would sort of half twist and slide around.

I need something like the Parkway SG clip to add a fourth point to the belt, to keep me from sliding forward (relaxing) into the seat, resulting in awful back and hip pain.
