So DS2 is 3 years old, 34lbs, and 39" tall. He's rf'ing in my car in a MR65 99% of the time but DH got a new car (Mazda 3) and I want a seat in there for him too. I currenty have a ff'ing TFP in there, but I recently got my Regent back from my friend who was borrowing it for her DD. DS2 saw it and said he wanted to use it in DH's car. It expires in October 2013, so I could get a year out of it. I had originally thought I would just sell it on Craiglist and keep using the TFP, but maybe I should use it for that last year and then switch back to the TFP. Any thoughts or reasons not to use the Regent? Oh, and are there any crash test videos of the Regent? I couldn't find any. DS2 would be outboard in DH's car and would only be in it for short trips.

Personally, I'd prefer the regent over the TFP ff. I love the TFP rf, but got rid of mine when they became outgrown rf.

I don't have experience with either seat. I just wanted to caution against selling a soon-to-expire carseat to a stranger. I'd fear that the person would use it past it's useful life.

The regent is awesome! I'd use it till it expires, take the cover off and then trash/recycle the seat then at least you know no one else is using it.
