What type of fabric is on the cardinal and cloud burst parkway?

Is it soft, or the type that will make a child sweat?

Cardinal is kinda of like very slightly suede-y windsuit material...

And cloudburst is a subtle weave that feels cotton-y...

I would pick the cloudburst on feel alone, JMHO!

I just purchased the cloudburst, it's a cotton blend like material. I like the color in our black interior car. however, I feel like the carseat itself is kind of flimsy. When moving it from car to car it's wobbly, it seems to be made of plastic & no metal. Idk if that makes a difference in safety but the carseat we had my son in previously was the nautilus & it was way more sturdy & heavy but felt a lot safer.

Any parkway owners out there who can help me feel more confident in this purchase? I'm really debating on taking it back.

I don't own a parkway now but have in the past (and still would if it would fit in my 3-across and fit my kids well).

As far as dedicated boosters go, the parkway is quite sturdy compared to others. Boosters are primarily for positioning the seatbelt: in a crash the seatbelt does all the work. So a dedicated booster doesn't need to be as sturdy as a harnessed seat such as the nautilus. A nautilus's frame would need to support the stress of the harnessed child and also the seatbelt/latch pulling from the other side. This is the way I think of it. There are dedicated boosters that are more substantial but the jury is out as to if being sturdier makes them perform better or actually makes them perform worse. Being sturdier means more weight behind the child and on the seatbelt though most heavier boosters are latchable so I would think that would help. These more substantial boosters are also more expensive and/or larger. You might try the Diono Monterey, its a popular more substantial booster thats price point is not much above the parkway. It is larger though. HTHs!

Thanks!! That does make sense why a harnessed seat would be more substantial than a belt positioning booster. That makes me feel a lot better about it, my only other complaint of this seat is that when I take it out of my car the back flies back into the flat position. Idk why it does this, I assembled it correctly according the the owners manual. Well, I'll have to see how it works out. Thank you so much for your help!

No problem. :)

The back flopping is a common complaint about dedicated boosters. I think the turbo is the worst to do it. It flops back and the bottom comes off at the drop of a hat. I have even heard someone complain about their clek oobr doing it and its a $200+ booster.
