Child Seat Toxicity Levels

Has anyone else gone through this list: http://www.healthystuff.org/get-stu...nts+found+in+majority+of+2011+child+car+seats

Anyone have any thoughts? I was a little surprised by some of these, but should we really be worried about this? Are these levels really that high?

Graco and Britax are phasing out the most toxic chemicals. Orbit and Cybex already have, I believe (or never used them to begin with).

The rest of your car (and most/all of your furniture) is treated with flame retardants, too, and children tend to ingest them through dust. So if the chemicals concern you (which they likely do) vacuum often and wash hands a lot.

I bought everything for the baby ahead of time and aired it out in the garage. The mattress, the change pad, the stroller, everything. Bought used when I could too. FWIW new zealand actually requires baby mattresses to be wrapped in an airtight pads and the rate of SIDS has gone down significantly.
