I just twist the buckle a 1/2 turn, putting the button on the inside. It works just fine and no extra stuff.

Re: Putting the button on the inside-- I always do this, too, but on my RNs the button ends up very close to the little plastic lip near the RF belt path. I'm always worried that in a crash, the carseat might move violently enough the the button smacks off that lip and the seatbelt could pop open. Anyone else ever thought about this? Is it a legitimate concern?

What is the seatbelt guard mentioned by a PP? (Sorry, don't know how to multiquote on my iPod.)
