Does Britax allow a gap like this? Would you be comfortable?

He are a few pictures...there is a gap from about my son's shoulder blades to the headrest. Headrest is not removable and if I put it up the gap is ginormous.

Britax states that it should lie flat against the seat back and the headrest should be removed to achieve this if necessary. So if it is not removeable, and it does not lie flat, no, not allowed, and you'd need to remove the back from the booster.

I thought there was an update last week about the gap being okay though.

Okay, so this is the smallest gap of any booster I've tried, including a Turbo, b570, and this. What other boosters should I try? Is Oobr my only option?

Can any combos be used as a booster with this gap?

Thanks!

Was there? Where??? Britax is usually good about having those things on the product instruction pages when you search and I didn't see one!

If you find it, link it. It would be great if it specifies how much is too much (in some cases a little tiny gap happens, which I can understand being fine. This looks pretty significant.)

I swear that last week someone posted about good gaps and bad gaps with britax seats. Let me get on laptop.

And possibly it was harnessed seats but I'll look

Just thought of another question...Currently my kid is 49 lbs in a Maestro installed with a similar gap. He is using it in booster mode until I get another seat. I was told a few years okay a gap like thus is okay with a convertible so I assumed okay with the Maestro too...is it?

If my seat were installed tightly with more than 80% of the base on the vehicle seat, I'd be fine with it. Any word in the Maestro manual?

Yeah, I've never heard of it being a problem with harnessed seats, which makes sense, since they are already tightly secured with the vehicle seat, while the booster is going to move.

I've read that there must not be a gap in a few combo manuals- I think. The only way to really know for sure is probably to read each manual...

As far as I can tell there is no mention in the maestro manual.

So what are my options as far as a booster goes? Just Oobr? That really can't be!

Personally, I would have no problem with a gap that small. Call Britax, email them your pics and see what they say.

Britax said not only could I not use the Parkway with this small gap, but I also couldn't use ANY of their seats at all (convertible, F85 in any mode, nothing).

Aaaaand this is why I don't bother calling. That is RIDICULOUS :), but it made my choice of Advocate or Peg convertible fairly easy.

well that goes against the new info that was in the thread I posted..

Its always a crap shoot when you call.

That goes against reasonable thought LOL. LOTS of cars with headbumps and weird headrest issues.
