I'm just singing praises here, b/c I think folks should know!
I called Graco to order a new bottom cover for my nephew's Nautilus, which he'll now be using only as a backless booster. The rep was very helpful, and she even sent me a shoulder harness clip/strap. I got a small discount on shipping for being a tech, which she didn't have to do. It was all so cheap anyways. Very nice and very quick.
I also spoke to Evenflo about our ETA, b/c the red harness tabs are both broken AND the buckle is sticking on one side. I suspect it's breaking inside, b/c I can't see anything in it, and it's not "dirty". She said it can be rinsed out w/warm water, but I pointed out that since it doesn't detach from the seat, I have concerns about doing so, b/c there are multiple metal pieces inside the seat. I didn't mind trying whatever she suggested, but she offered me a replacement seat for $50. I asked if it could be the Secure Kid for that price and she agreed, since it was the same price point as our ETA. When I asked for the total, she said, it's just $50! No shipping charge? I was shocked. That was so nice of them and unexpected. And she sent me the longer tether, too, which I was happy to pay for! I did want a little fix of some sort for my ETA, since I don't think the buckle should break after only 4 yrs, but the seat has been used very well. They'll be taking that seat back.
Thank you Graco and Evenflo for being so kind. Both went a step beyond what they really *had* to. Much appreciated!!!!
ETA: I almost hesitated to post this brag, b/c I don't want folks calling and demanding companies give them freebies, but I did want to brag on the great customer service I received. We so often hear complaints about companies (not just carseats). They didn't have to go as far as they did. I also had a similar good experience w/Britax a few years ago.
