Evenflo Chase Select/Maestro

Found this at my local Walmart. $64. Harness up to 40lbs. Anyone heard of it? Looks like a Maestro with a lower weight limit and different cup holders.

I was going to get it for dhs truck. Not sure if it would be worth it though, dd is 32lbs clothed.

It is a 40 pound limit maestro. I think it's silly. Usually you can find a maestro for under $70 at walmart.com

Why would they make a maestro w/ a lower weight limit? That's odd. I know there is a Chase, but thought it had no SIP. Then there is another one, Generations maybe, that is very similar...

Those few #s make a difference...My 6yo still fits in the Maestro. By height and weight. He is on the top harness slot and just at 40#. He is short/skinny if that helps any...

Skinny kids will get to 40# long before they outgrow that seat by height, so I'd spend the extra $10 and get the actual Maestro.

The seat we know as the chase and the generations 65 are discontinued. The new 40 pounds maestro/chase replaces the old one. I can see it being a good seat, if sold for more like $40-50, but not at $67, when for a couple $ more you can buy a 50 pound seat.

I think it's kinda silly. Even though my 31 lb 4.5 year old would be just fine in this seat for quite some time, I would still spend $5-10 more for the 50lb seat....actually I would probably spend the $99 to get the SureRide just for its harness height :)

Harness height is the same. It's the booster that adjusts taller.

eh, for a slightly cheaper price, for the skinny ones, I don't mind it... the type of seat with that weight range still sells, so they're supplying the demand... but why can't they put that fabric (and a similar boy one) on the high limit seats, too?

I didn't realize there was a Securekid 100, it has a 40# weight limit on it. Means you're going to have to be really careful when suggesting the Securekid to anyone as they may get the 40# harness one vs 47# ++...I also worry people are going to get the 100 thinking they have the 300 and believing (or knowing but thinking there is no difference) a 50-65# weight limit...

I can't tell you how many people have told me they have harness to 100# in an AOE or for that matter I heard someone say that in a Maestro once...

Wonder if they'll get rid of the Maestro and call it the Securekid 200 w/ a 50# weight limit!?

My bad-I read it as SecureKid.

It is slightly taller, though it also seems to have a bit less space to accommodate older, bigger kids. :)

It irritates me when I see more of these 40# combo seats come out....it justs makes my stance that kids usually aren't ready for a booster at the typical "4 and 40#" just that much harder.

Honestly, these manufacturers need to come up with more unique names! They all sound so similar and just run together in my brain after awhile.
