My daughter will be 6 at the end of the month, I am flying with her to NY tomorrow to visit family from her Father's side. We will be staying in Long Island. I am going to use her Nautilus on the plan and in the family car.
I just found out we are going to be taking the train and subway into the city. I'm okay with that. Then I was told in the city we can take cabs. Um, ahhh! I took one there when I was pregnant and it scared the tar out of me! I cannot put my "baby" in a cab without a seat! I wouldn't even want to put her in a cab with a seat. I don't want to put myself in a cab for crying out loud!
I don't know much about the city. I think the plan is to take the Staten Island ferry and look at the Statue of liberty (but not do the tour) and have dinner in the city. Is the ferry at all walking distance from the subway? I am bringing the umbrella stroller (Cybex Onyx) and have no problems with walking.
So, what do I say/do? How can I word my response nicely and informatively without sounding like a crazy overprotective mom who babies her child? Help please!
